Players talk about their various backgrounds, how they first encountered the Port Sunlight Orchestra, and their initial and current impressions.
Young and gorgeous! (Jack Davies)

Sadly, this refers to my new viola, rather than the totally untalented player holding it. After decades as a roaming IT contractor, I returned to playing at the age of 60 – and promptly broke both arms! However, the wonderful PSO gave me a home during my rehabilitation, and I’ve never looked back.
I cannot recall meeting so many lovely people in one place before! My first impression (since confirmed many times over) was that rehearsals were both challenging and FUN! The same can be said of our performances; playing to full houses of appreciative audiences inspires the orchestra to give of its best – especially those who want to demonstrate their lovely new instruments!

-with natural horn…
…and with valves!

(There are many talented players in PSO. See Angela’s CV, here.)
Paul Hastie (Horn) says ” I was a member of Portsunlight Orchestra aged 16 some 64 years ago and I can remember the first piece of music I played as Second Horn with Cliff Jones as First Horn in 1961. (The piece was Praeludium and David is checking to see if it is still in the Library.)
