Our Players

Our players come from all walks of life; their various backgrounds and experiences enrich our conversations in delightful ways! While we welcome and enjoy our many small differences, we all of us share an enjoyment of making music, delivering performances to be proud of. Our members support each other always, and take rehearsing and performing seriously, but this does not get in the way of humour and general bonhomie!

Some of our cheerful cello section!
(Hats ceased to be compulsory in the PSO in 1922. Ian is currently saving for the operation to have his removed.)
Stalwart second violins!

Don’t be decieved by the music scattered so artistically about the floor; Julie is the orchestra’s secretary and the most orhanised person you could meet!

Three talented ladies: Lesley (deputy leader), Ellie and Debbie (Prcipal and deputy second violins).

This dapper gent is Clive, our principal violist. (He’s ALWAYS dapper – puts the rest of us to shame…)

This is Ellie, leader of the second violins. She is wonderfully concientious about arranging bowing for the section. In addition, she is the orchestra’s librarian. (This is not an easy task. Our orchestra has music in its library going back 100 years!)
